An NHS organisation is looking for a Head of Procurement.
The purpose of this role is to lead the Procurement team during the current Head of Procurement`s sabbatical.
The main duties of this role include:
-Establish, implement and deliver a Procurement strategy covering all aspects of Procurement and Supplies including supplier and product selection/rationalisation, order processing, purchasing, receipt and distribution and storage
-Identify and undertake financial analysis of all non-pay expenditure, involving benchmarking activity and market knowledge to focus on collaborative procurement activity and resources to achieve cost saving opportunities
-Monitor the performance of the Purchasing and Supplies team
-Identify and establish procurement work plans to successfully implement value-for-money opportunities on all major areas of non-pay expenditure
-Monitor implemented value for money savings opportunities and report progress against targeted savings to ensure they are being achieved
-Analyse complex, commercially sensitive and high value tender documents, evaluate and lead negotiations to ensure compliance and value for money
-To act as the procurement lead and provide appropriate advice and support on all aspects of procurement, supply chain and related commercial activities
The ideal candidate for this role will be a CIPS qualified Head of Procurement with strong NHS experience. They will have experience analysing complex, commercially sensitive and high value tender documents, evaluating and leading negotiations to ensure compliance and value for money. They must be able to work as part of a team and to enjoy a good working relationship with both internal and external contacts.
