Interim Financial Controller
Reporting to Financial Director
Salary up to £65k
CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified
Retail/Fashion/Wholesale background is essential
An impressive branded fashion house based in West London is looking to hire a Financial Controller to report and work closely with the Financial Director.
The overall job purpose is to establish best practice accounting and control systems, and to ensure the provision of accurate and timely management information to facilitate business performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare management accounts timely and accurately for UK and Ireland
- Collate, reconcile and post all relevant information regarding sales, COS, miscellaneous sales, discounts, carriage cost, royalties outsourcing, VAT and duty
- Post the monthly accruals, recharges, and provisions to the brands
- Check and post payroll, SSP, SMP, and pensions
- Ensure all staff deductions are posted, deal with discrepancies, and raise queries with HR or Payroll
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepayment, debtors, payroll, pension and National Insurance accounts
- Check quarterly VAT
- Check and authorise all payments: Bacs, telegraphic transfers and cheques
- Check bank balances and do the necessary inter bank accounts
- Reclaim the overseas VAT
- Declare the Irish VAT
- Preparing trading reports
- Analysing order books
Knowledge skills and Experience:
Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
Retail/Fashion/Wholesale background is essential
You will have experience working with buying and merchandising teams.
Strong Excel knowledge is essential to macro level.
